Stadium Roof Replacement

Project Category:
Selective Demolition
Location:
Vancouver, BC

The replacement of the domed fabric roof of BC Place Stadium with a retractable roof was one of the most technically challenging projects attempted in Vancouver during the last 50 years.  The original domed roof was supported by air pressure and cables, and had to be removed to enable major modifications to the stadium's structure prior to the installation of the new roof.  In addition to removing the fabric roof, we successfully completed extensive concrete cutting with wire saws, large diamater blades and core-drills.  Every member of our team was proud to play a role in transforming BC Place Stadium into an iconic landmark that will grace the Vancouver skyline for decades to come.
