We are currently looking for Skilled Labourers to join our team in the Edmonton region of Alberta. You will be accountable to operate as a productive member of a high functioning team, ensure positive and clean work environment, promote the company’s Safety Program & Culture, and provide daily support to the Demolition team.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain site to eliminate possible hazards and keep worksite clean and orderly
  • Use necessary hand/powered tools; Load/unload demo materials and equipment as needed
  • In a systematic & safe fashion demo items in work scope following all company procedures/practices
  • Conduct Field Level Risk Assessments paperwork as required by scope/task
  • Assist in positioning, erecting, and dismantling scaffolding, hoarding, etc. as needed
  • Assist in sorting materials prior to disposal/recycling; Dig, shovel, sweep, lift, carry, wheelbarrow
  • Helps promote a work environment where the safety and health of all employees, subcontractors, and individuals on Norland sites is paramount
  • Certified individuals to operate skid-steer, zoom-boom, mini or large excavator, boom lift & scissor lift

 

​Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Safety and experience in demolition and/or construction industry
  • Able & willing to work outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions; Ability to work at heights and in tight spaces
  • Cutting torch, mobile equipment & machinery certifications an asset
  • Experience with basic power and construction tools
  • Problem solving & time management an asset (problem-free attendance is paramount)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of team; Good work ethic and a willingness to learn
  • Valid Driver’s License an asset (abstract required)
  • Fit to work – ability to see, hear, walk, stand, and lift 50lbs for full shift
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written)

 

Working Conditions:

  • Field environment, working to deadlines, some high-stress situations
  • Required to wear respiratory protection often
  • May be required to work outside of normal work hours on occasion and travel frequently
